New Sandals Resort Curacao

As summer gets closer, Sandals Resorts, the leader in all-inclusive resorts, is putting the finishing touches on its brand-new Sandals Royal Curaçao, which opens on June 1. This will be Sandals’ 16th property overall and its ninth location in the Caribbean.

New Sandals Resort Curacao

The brand-new resort is in one of the most beautiful parts of Curaçao. It is on 44 oceanfront acres inside the Santa Barbara private estate, a 3,000-acre private protected preserve. It faces west, and its design is meant to show off one of the Caribbean’s most magnificent sunsets.

It has 351 beautiful rooms and suites that stretch along the beach of the Caribbean and the calm, sheltered Spanish Water Bay. They have a modern look inside, with blue and green botanical details that match the lush, tropical surroundings of the island.

There are 24 different types of rooms on three different category levels, including two brand-new types of signature suites. The latest Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows and Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows offer high levels of privacy, private patios with an extended sun deck, sun loungers, and a Tranquility Soaking Tub, and a bistro set, as well as personal butler service and 24-hour room service.

The stunning Kurason Island Bungalows have a tropical garden view and are set up in Sandals’ signature heart shape around a semi-private lagoon pool with a man-made island in the middle. The beautiful Awa Seaside Bungalows are right on the beach and have stunning sea views. And each has its own private infinity pool that looks out over the calm Spanish Waters.

Another first for the Sandals brand is that guests of both of these signature suite types can use a stylish and sporty MINI Cooper for free to get around the island as they wish. Other types of guests can use free Dutch bikes to discover the 3,000 acres of lush, tropical land that surrounds the resort.

Sandals Royal Curaçao has more “firsts” than any other Sandals property. For example, it’s the first Sandals property on an island where the primary language isn’t English. The resort also has Sandals’ first two-level infinity pool, called Dos Awa. Its azure blue waters seem to flow right into the azure sea beyond. Another unique and first-of-its-kind feature is the natural saltwater pool with a sand bottom that is cut into the rocks along the coast and filled by the ocean.

Guests can eat and drink as much as they want at any of the resort’s 13 unique bars and eight world-class Global Gourmet Signature restaurants. Eight of the restaurants are brand-new concepts that are only available at Sandals Royal Curaçao.

Outside of the formal dining areas, there are three food trucks, which is another first for Sandals, that serve Curaçaoan food, Spanish tapas, and Asian fusion dishes. An ice-cream cart also serves creamy signature flavors to appease a sweet tooth.
